Diet is an Essential Or integral part of human existence. We believe that the absence of a proper or balanced diet simply means death, as can be proved from the formula below.


Diet = Die + Time


Consumption of Balance Diet simply adds enough Time to your Life...! So for good health, longevity and a healthy lifestyle, eat right...!


Diet is the mixture or the total components of food and beverage a person consumes or eat. The word diet often refers to the use of specific or controlled regime of food and/ or beverage for health reasons or to gain or lose weight. Both uses are related.

A diet must be rich and balance to met the need (both physiological and biochemical) of an individual. A balanced diet is a diet which contains all the food nutrients in their correct or right proportions. Therefore, a complete or balanced diet must contain;

Water, to provide the optimum medium for enzyme activities and for effective digestion. It must contain carbohydrates and fats to provide metabolic fuel, a balanced diet must also contain protein for growth, tissue repair and maintenance. It must also contain fibre for bulk movement in the lumen.

A balanced diet must contain minerals for specific metabolic functions, and a balanced diet must also contain vitamins which are organic compounds needed in very small quantities for important metabolic and physiological functions.

A balanced diet which is otherwise called a complete nutrition requires the ingestion, digestion, absorption and assimilation of all the required nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats and oil, minerals and vitamins in their right proportions. Water and dietary fibers are also an essential part of a complete diet.

A good dietary habit plays a significant role in a person's health, his/ her quality of life and longevity. However, the diet of an individual is often influenced by several factors, which includes,

  • Culture,
  • Religion,
  • Economy,
  • Availability,
  • Personal,
  • Weight management, etc.


Compositions of The Human Body

The Human body is made of about 70% water, and the remaining 30% is composed of chemical compounds such as carbohydrates, proteins, fatty acids and nucleic acids (DNA and RNA). The chemical compounds also consists of elemental components such as carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium, iron, manganese, magnesium, etc. These chemical compounds may occur in the Human body in the form of hormones, vitamins, phospholipids, etc.

Nutrients

Nutrients which could come in the form of foods, beverages, etc. are very good sources of Nourishments, which can be metabolized by a person to provide him/ her the required amount of energy and to build and/ or repair worn out body tissues. Nutrients also contains indigestible dietary fibres to aid in bulk movement.

Dietary fibres

These are cellulose base indigestible dietary fibres that are an important components of your diet. Fibres provide such benefits as bulk movement in the intestinal lumen and aid in mopping and/ or absorbing and removing triglycerides and the infamous "bad cholesterol" called low density lipoprotein (LDL) from your body.

Water

Keeping yourself hydrated by far is one of the most important dietary habit. Drinking plenty of water daily, staying hydrated with water is an easy and miraculous way to improve your health and stay healthy.

Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates provide the energy and metabolic fuel needed by the body. Therefore, eating a good amount of complex carbohydrates such as whole grain, rice, noddles and also yams, potatoes, etc will provide the much needed energy for growth, good health, increased work output, etc.

Healthy lifestyle

Eating healthy is the first and most Important step to a great, happy, longevity and healthy life. You will feel great and have a strong and healthy body if you eat right. For you to have a good, safe and sound life, you must have the much needed energy which naturally comes from the consumption of balance diet. General body weakness or tiredness may arise as a result of lack of proper or good nutrients. This weakness may give rise to low productivity and eventually affects lifestyle.
